The Prince of Wales in Elephant and Castle is as traditional a London pub as you’ll ever find. Located on St George’s Road – running between Westminster Bridge Road to the northwest and Elephant and Castle to the southeast – its traditional style and casual atmosphere makes it an ideal resting spot for post-work drinks, or a game-day. Here’s the lowdown on what’s coming up.
Sports are a must-have at the Prince of Wales. Elephant and Castle locals know that they regularly screen all of Sky and BT Sport’s offerings throughout the week (See further down for more info on upcoming screenings) so it’s no surprise that this Friday’s England match against Albania, taking place at 7:45pm in Wembley Stadium will be on-screen.
England go in unbeaten in their qualifying campaign so far so it will certainly be one to watch.
Make sure to stick around after the game for Karaoke with Paul, a regular event that kicks off at 9pm and bears a tantalising winning price-tag. The ‘take-your-pick jackpot is set at a whopping £850, a whole £150 more than last month’s.
While The Prince of Wales are keeping their cards close to their chest with this one, they have announced that a new Christmas menu with Christmas hampers and prizes will be introduced from December 1st. Is a turkey roast, complete pigs in blankets and crackers on the cards? Only time will tell.
