Recently redeveloped and fully funded by Lendlease as part of the development of One, The Castle Centre now features a state-of-the-art gym, a purpose-built sports hall, a spa and swimming pools. Alongside these facilities, the sports centre offers an extensive range of group exercise classes as well as a creche and cafe.
If you’re looking to improve fitness, classes to try out include group indoor cycling, circuits and body attack. The centre also offers badminton, basketball and aqua aerobics, just to name a few. The Castle Centre, along with five other fitness centres, is also free to Southwark borough residents every weekend, giving you no excuses! View the full list of activities here.

If you prefer to be outdoors and are on the hunt for some new running buddies, why not give the Burgess Parkrun a go? The run takes place every Saturday at 9am around Burgess Park in Camberwell. Even better, it is free to join once you are registered with Vitality parkrun. Runners of all levels are encouraged to take part – there’s even a group post-run coffee at Fowlds Cafe each week, which members are encouraged to join.
