The new names will be amongst the first to take space in two new buildings between Kent Road and Ash Avenue, boosting the area with yet more to enjoy. Let’s meet the newest faces coming soon to Elephant Park…

First up: Fight City Gym. The combat training fitness specialists have signed for a 5,459 sq ft space on New Kent Road and offer a varied and dynamic list of activities for all ages and levels such as Boxing, Mixed Martial Arts, Judo and Jiu-Jitsu. The team already owns two successful sites at Balham and Moorgate and is now committed to heightening Elephant and Castle’s sense of fitness and fun, combining elite coaches and state of the art training equipment.

Mani Johal, co-founder of the gym, is looking forward to bringing Fight City Gym’s ethos to a new local audience. “Elephant Park is an exciting new destination and stands as the perfect location within which to expand our offering in South London. We are very excited to have signed for a space here and look forward to seeing our combat training classes embraced by individuals of all fitness levels within the existing and emerging Elephant and Castle community.”

Next to keep us on our toes is MoreYoga, whose Elephant Park opening on New Lion Way will be the team’s 34th London studio to date. Since launching in 2016, the venue’s blend of elite yoga teaching and low-cost classes has made MoreYoga a stand-out name for pros and beginners alike. Founder and Chairman Shanmir Sidhu explained, “We are committed to offering accessible classes located conveniently to fit into people’s day-to-day lives. We look forward to welcoming the community through our doors and providing everything MoreYoga is about to this vibrant community.”.

Expect a wide range of yoga styles, such as specialist restorative classes perfect for those who need a little TLC focusing on breathing and self-awareness. For those with something a little more challenging in mind, the team offers traditional yogic practices with a twist, sure to build strength and tone.

Last, but not least, is Tempo Pilates whose newest venue will occupy 2498 sq ft in Ash Avenue. Already a huge hit in Shoreditch, Covent Garden and Hackney, the concept uses the tempo of music to provide fun and vigorous classes which put a spin on regular Pilates practices, challenging participants to use controlled body movements, guided by breath while encouraging strength and concentration - all in time to the beat.

The three fresh new faces are the latest brands in a stellar line-up of shops, restaurants and event spaces at Elephant Park. The trio will occupy the same area as Lendlease’s collection of Build to Rent homes; the ‘Living by Lendlease’ rental homes will be the first to be managed by the group and tailored to meet the everyday needs of new residents, with an array of fun things to see and do on their doorsteps.

When complete, Elephant Park will encompass four and a half hectares of public space, nearly 1,500 newly planted trees and a 101,000 sq m park with play area and a water feature. It’s expected to become one of London’s most vibrant and enjoyable places to live, work and enjoy, as Guy Thomas, Head of Retail at Lendlease, commented, “The recent signing announcements for Fight City Gym, MoreYoga and Tempo Pilates add to our offer for the local community and highlight our commitment to building a sustainable and balanced array of operators within Elephant Park.”
